With the wire, slowly snag the clog, be cautious, and do not push the waste deeper into the drain.
If you do not observe hair clogging the pipe, use a plunger to remove the clog in the drain. A plunger is commonly known as the “plumber’s friend,” it works best when there is a rigid seal around the drain opening. This might help in coating the rim of the rubber, you can also force cup the same with petroleum jelly.
Next, drain enough water into the shower to cover the tip of the rubber cup on the plunger, and make sure it is fitted properly over the drain opening. Move the handle of the plunger up and down rapidly.
If this too fails to push the clog free, the next step that Charlotte plumber would suggest their clients is to try a hand snake. This equipment features a flexible coil, usually made up of spring steel, crank at one end for rotating it. Cautiously let the metal cable into the drainpipe until you detect the obstruction. As soon as you feel the cable stop, twist the handle clockwise. The tip of the cable will rip the clog as it encounters the metal cable. Drain cleaners poured into drains can remove clogs, however, these cleaners contain caustic chemicals, and these should be used only as instructed by the plumber or the manufacturing companies.
